Learning, Teaching and Training Events

Freigericht, GERMANY (March, 2018)

The last Learning, Teaching and Training event took place at Koppernikusschule in Freigericht in March 2018. The purpose of this event was to carry out a final phase of user testing on the Student Courses and to train teachers and trainee teachers across the partnership in the teaching of global competencies and international skills. We also had the opportunity to present the project to a member of the German Parliament and an evening celebrating Europschule in Hesse.

Lecce, ITALY (March, 2017)

The second Learning, Teaching and Training event, which took place in Lecce in southern Italy, focused primarily on designing advanced functions for the Student Courses, reviewing and addressing any problems that had arisen during their development and ensuring the assets dovetailed, had relevance and worked properly.  This led to the initial hosting of the work on dedicated websites, where they will remain until testing of the products is complete. In addition, participants were given the opportunity to experience a practical exercise involving the preparation, design, collection and production of new materials including videos for the online courses. Finally, participants were able to undertake the global competency survey and review the results of this.

Heijenrath, NETHERLANDS (April 2016)

Our first Learning, Teaching and Training event took place in April 2016 close to the centre of Europe, where Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium meet. In the beautiful village of Heijenrath, teachers and students from the partnership met to undertake an eBook course. We had speakers from Book Widgets, Book Creator, as well as experts in new teaching methods, such as Flipped Learning and international skills, such as the 'diversity competence'. We also had training in how to film and carry out interviews. The event gave us the opportunity to carry out the first phase of user testing on the Global Competency Inventory which was pivotal in the further development for wider release.
